WWVARC Events

The WWVARC has hosted three operating events during 2019 and 2020.

WW0WWV Site in the fog 9/30/2019

The first and largest operating event was the WWV 100th Anniversary celebration held at the WWV site north of Fort Collins, Colorado, from September 28 through October 2, 2019.  The event was a huge success, with over 10,000 QSOs, 100 operators from around the country, and a fine collection of equipment and exceptional operating digs.  The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) worked closely with the amateur community, provided exceptional tours to the amateur operators, and hosted a wonderful 100th celebration on October 1.  Please see the associated story about the WWV 100th Anniversary.

In May 2020, 5 operators from the original event put WW0WWV on the air again, celebrating 100 years since the first public broadcasts of WWV and the NBS labs, commemorating the Friday night music broadcasts in the Washington, D.C. area of May 1920.

WW0WWV QSL card October 2020 event

October 2020  - Several of the 100th Anniversary operators from Fort Collins and QTHs across the country celebrated WWV's 101st Anniversary from October 1 through October 4, operating when they could, from their home QTHs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This was a small operating event, but still a lot of fun.

QSL cards for all three events are available.  Either visit our on-line logbook via OQRS and request a QSL or send us a QSLcard request directly at the address listed on QRZ.com.

We plan to hold FUTURE OPERATING EVENTS to celebrate different historic as well as scientific milestones in the history of WWV, amateur radio, and metrology.

We appreciate your patience as we get ready to accept new members and start regular meetings this Fall 2021.
