The WWV ARC will once again celebrate the anniversary of WWV the weekend of September 29 - October 1, 2023.  Club member stations will be on-the-air from various locations across the country and we'd like you to have a QSO with them!  We'll post the operating schedule HERE starting September 28 so you know what bands and who it is you're communicating with.

Would you like to join the fun?  Sign up to operate a special event station from home for the 104th Anniversary of WWV and earn a complementary Club membership through 2024!

The WWV 104th Anniversary event will be recognized by having WW0WWV Special Event Stations active from 1200 UTC September 29 through 2359 UTC October 1, 2023.  The event starts Friday morning (6:00 AM MDT) and goes until Sunday evening (6:00 PM MDT).

WWV ARC is looking for new members to join the event and is offering FREE MEMBERSHIP through 2024 in exchange for 2 hours of on-air operation.  WWV ARC club members are encouraged to participate and to invite a friend to join in as well.

How to become a NEW member and participate:  Club membership is required to use our Club Call Sign WW0WWV.  To operate the Special Event from your home, you should have a suitable HF or VHF/UHF station and operate within your license class restrictions. General, Advanced, or Extra Class licensed amateurs could operate HF and VHF/UHF with Technician Class restricted to some HF CW and 10m and shorter wavelengths.

Participant Operators are expected to keep a detailed log of all your QSOs, and again, only operate in your class licensed bands and modes.

All QSOs for the event should be point-to-point, without the aid of a repeater or an internet digital service, with the exception of satellite QSOs.  If you are roaming, grid square locations will be recorded for LoTW, as will the various QTHs of fixed operators.  Logs need to be submitted by October 6, 2023.

Fred Schwierske, W9KEY,  has organized a very good Operator's Guide we’ll share with participants, and we’d be glad to answer any of your questions.  You should put some time in to learn more about WWV before the event weekend and the Operator’s Guide is a good resource to start with.

Please send an email to Fred Schwierske, w9key@arrl.net, or Dave Swartz, W0DAS, swartzdaveco@gmail.com, expressing your interest in operating and joining the Club.  We’ll send you a link to join and also give you access to the Operating Guidelines and Operator’s Sign-up Schedule.
